Pediatric Dental Care

We specialize in kids.

Our pediatric specialists are uniquely prepared to attend to the special oral health issues facing children from infancy through adolescence. With extensive experience and years of specialized training beyond dental school, our team helps parents and children through every phase of a child’s oral health experience.

Preventative & General Care

We believe a beautifully healthy smile begins with preventive oral health care. Our approach is to combine our specialized pediatric treatment options with helping children learn and develop lifelong oral care habits.

  • Regular examinations and x-rays
  • Prophylaxis (regular cleanings)
  • Tooth sealants to prevent cavities
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Oral care habits education (brushing, flossing, swishing)
  • Dietary education (limiting sugar, soda, etc…)
  • Cavity prevention education

Prenatal & Infant Care

Beginning with expectant mothers, we recommend prenatal visits to prevent any potential oral health issues, like periodontal disease, that may affect the babies future oral health. Within the first year of your child’s life, you will want to visit so we can ensure your young one is well on their way to lifelong oral health.

  • Your child’s first oral exam
  • Prenatal parent oral health care education
  • Early infant oral health care education
  • Help with common questions (thumb sucking, teething, etc.)
  • Learn what to expect during the early years

Childhood Care

Lifelong oral health begins with your child learning to enjoy a trip to the dentist. With a child-oriented environment, we make it our mission to help your child feel relaxed and at ease during their visit. For certain treatments, we will work together with parents to offer relaxing and sedative options to remove any anxiety your child may be feeling.

Adolescent Care

As your child moves into adolescence, we will continue to monitor their oral health and daily care habits during their regular visits.

  • Orthodontic evaluation
  • Wisdom teeth temoval
  • Root canals and extractions
  • Teeth whitening
  • Athletic mouth guards
  • Nightguards

Laser Frenectomy Treatment

Some children are born with a common condition called a tongue-tie (ankyloglossia) and/or a lip-tie, which results in restrictions that can create difficulty with breastfeeding, and lead to other health problems like speech and airway difficulties, dental decay, spacing, and even digestive issues.

During a procedure called a frenotomy, we use a laser light to release the frenum under the tongue or upper lip, which allows for a fuller range of motion. This procedure has very little discomfort and almost no bleeding; babies and children often sleep through the procedure. The laser also sterilizes upon touch, stimulating healing and reducing the chance of infection.
